[ He chuckles around a bite of his sandwich, hand in front of his mouth as he does and he gently nudges at Jason's leg again under the table, grin on his lips. He's touching everything that he's ordered, having taken at least a couple bites from it all while working on both his sandwich and his burger. When the fries-dipped-in-milkshake are offered to him, he leans over the table some with a smile and takes them in his mouth, making sure to nip the tips of those fingers as he does, just because. ]
This is... nice. You know? Just โ hanging out like this and getting something to eat. I don't know. Maybe I need to get out more or something.
[ Chuckling softly, he shrugs as he finishes off his burger and fries, sandwich to be next, before he moves onto the breakfast plate he has. ]
Can't believe you're shooting your sugar daddy down just like that. No shame!
[ He teases, being all dramatic about it. he's good at that. he's also good at flirting right back, sliding his leg up against Barry's.
Jason wonders if Barry would mind if he stole a pierogi, cause he's definitely eying them right now, even as they both stuff their faces. He's definitely fully distracted from stealing Barry's food as the guy takes his fries in his mouth, lips brushing across his fingers.
Oh, he likes those lips a lot. ]
It's nice, yeah. It's... it's I like this. You. I like you.
[ he finishes awkwardly, letting out a small laugh before he stuffs his face with some waffles dipped in milkshake. ]
[ If he really wants to help himself to some of his food, he's not about to stop him from doing so. Barry's fine with sharing so long as he gets to have some for himself. Which, from the looks of it, will be quite a bit with the amount of things he's ordered on Jason's card. Well, "Jason's card" as it were.
He's finishing off some of that breakfast plate, letting his foot brush against Jason's again under the table as they seem to be locked in a game of footsie there, Barry unable to keep the smile off his face as they do, when Jason goes and says what he does and Barry just... blinks up to him, straw in his mouth.
It takes him a moment, swallowing down what he has in his mouth before he licks over his lips and he looks down to his plate of sweet potato fries, shoving a few in his mouth as he tilts his head for a second. ]
Well... I โ like you too.
[ Glancing up, he smiles a little sheepishly before he huffs a soft laugh and reaches for another plate. ]
I mean... I don't just sleep with anyone. Not really that kind of guy.
[ Jason pulls his fingers back and then he pauses for a moment before he brings them to his own lips, licking them clean. Look, there was milkshake on them, alright?
Jason's not sure about Barry's reaction at first. Was it too much again? Is he pushing too hard? Too many boundaries? Barry might be surprised at how rapidfire Jason's doubts pile on top of him and invade his thoughts. Maybe as fast as Barry flashes through time.
All the impending doom seems to halt though, with Barry telling him that he likes him too... and he's not the sleeping around kinda guy- and Jason can't help but smile at that, because for all the bullshit, sarcastic front he tries to put on, he's soft and emotional, and not just in the angry sort of way. ]
Me neither. I mean... I know I may seem like that kinda guy, but... I'm not.
[ Swallowing down a mouthful of his ice cream float which is more or less done now, he looks to Jason as more or less agrees to being the same. ]
I never assumed you were.
[ He licks over his lips to hide his soft smile, ducking his head then as he shoves another handful of sweet potato fries into his mouth, finishing those off. Maybe that had been naive of him to assume but, he had. For all the sarcastic, loudmouth-y fronts Jason puts on, Barry had seen a different side to hi that night in the park and after in his room that he had a hard time believing Jason incapable of something gentler, something softer, even if he mostly kept that side of him hidden. Plus, the fact that he'd gotten upset with him over that last text exchange they'd had with each other, how could he not believe there to be something more to him?
Reaching for a napkin, he wipes at his mouth, the bulk of his order already finished. ]
Uh, so... after this, did you โ wanna maybe go somewhere?
[ Barry really does work through his food fast. Jason's not far behind, but he's still got some chili dog and bites of burger and pieces of waffle to go. The shake is disappearing with the fries, but it all slows down with their exchange.
He knows it was Barry's first time being with a guy, but he wasn't sure about anything else and he had already done enough assuming before. They were both just practicing, right? Just living in the moment. But Jason really liked that moment, and he wanted more of it. ]
You didn't?...Good. I wasn't sure...
[ Jason doesn't usually get labeled as gentle or soft, because he tries so damn hard to keep those parts of him hidden. They're weaknesses, aren't they? Easily swayed and manipulated, cut into. Street kids can't be like that, and neither can Robin. But it's hard not to be that way with Barry, and it doesn't feel so bad that Barry can see it inside of him. ]
[ Teeth sinking into his bottom lip, he stifles a soft chuckle and gently, so very gently, brushes Jason's calf with the tip of his shoe. Slow, affectionate, things that Barry likes to savor rather than zip right through.
Working on the rest of that platter and plat he has, he hums a little merrily to himself as he does, thoroughly enjoying his meal he's been treated to as well as the company he has here with him. It feels good to know that they've more or less patched things up there and, hopefully, things will be a little more smooth sailing ahead, but. Who's to say really? He hopes for it though. ]
Uh, so... where did you wanna go? Any place in mind?
[ Fuck, is he supposed to get through the rest of his meal now?? Yes. Abso-fucking-lutely, because Barry is enjoying himself and that's what Jason wants.
He does eat a little faster now, though- but doesn't ever refrain from dipping it all into the rest of his shake, because he's enjoying this too. thoroughly. ]
There's a safehouse near here? We can go to? It's totally secure and I'm pretty sure I can make sure none of the cameras are on. I mean... unless you wanna go back the manor, but I feel like we kinda escaped by the skin of our teeth back there.
A safehouse? [ He says that with his mouth full, just... give him a second. ] Should have figured there'd be one around here. Actually, you know who probably has a few all over, knowing him.
[ The guy has six satellites.
But, reaching for another napkin, he wipes at his mouth and puffs out a sigh before he moves onto his last plate there and, just as he'd said, he's pretty much wiped it all out in a rather impressive manner... and he doesn't even look tired or full. ]
I'd... probably go with that though. Much as I think Alfred is cool and all, kinda... you know.
[ Little bit embarrassing to be caught like that as they had been, so. ]
[ Jason scrunches his face a bit, but shoves a few last fries into his mouth. Bruce's card, Bruce's safehouse. Come on. He knows he doesn't have shit. Let him live a little.
Barry really doesn't look tired or full. Just a little messy, and... okay, fuck Bruce. He's not here and he doesn't have this, and he's not the one leaning across the table to wipe sour cream off the corner of Barry's mouth. ]
Safehouse is good. We can hang out there for a while.
[ Safehouse it is then and Barry has absolutely no problems with that. Nor does he has a problem with the way Jason leans over and brushes some of that sour cream from the corner of his mouth. Catching him doing so as quickly as he does, he playfully nips at those fingers with a bit of a grin before he pulls back to "compose himself" what with the check coming and all. ]
Should we bring snacks?
[ Even after all of that, he can still snack, yeah. Hopefully you get used to his lifestyle when it comes to food, Jason. ]
[ Barry doesn't seem bothered that it's Bruce's place in the end, and that's good, cause he doesn't want to spiral again. He won't this time. He won't, he tells himself, because Barry isn't like everyone else. He has to give him a chance and not self sabotage, just like Barry's giving him a chance.
Easier said than done, sure, but... he's gonna try.
He smiles when Barry nips at his fingers, but he composes himself as well, after that. Johnny's got his card, so he starts sliding out of the booth so he can make sure it's on there, or whatever. he's sure they're already ringing up the check with every bite they eat. ]
Yeah, snacks would be good. What else do you want?
[ Thankfully, this snackhole here is pretty much done with what he's ordered for himself and boy, is he glad Jason was willing to treat him like this because... this really hit the spot and he's about to be so full of energy. ]
Snacks and you are good.
[ And the way he says that is so honest and genuine, even as he's wiping at his mouth with a napkin, reaching for his bag. ]
Thanks for this, by the way. [ He adds then, tossing a smile over to Jason as he pulls his bag on, letting it drop there against his shoulder. ] It like... really hit the spot. In so many different ways.
[ Jason's feeling pretty energized right now too. He's still a growing boy, after all... and, well... Barry is pretty energizing too. Jason feels about a thousand times better than he did before, hurt and unsure about how all of this was going. ]
Least I could do for all that bullshit back there. Thanks for still wanting to hang out with me.
[ And more, Jason reminds himself. There's gonna be more. So he slides out of the booth completely and leans in to give Barry a quick kiss, before he darts off to pay the bill, adding a couple things onto it for snacks later. ]
[ The kiss, quick as it is, is a bit of a surprise to Barry but not one that he minds at all. Far from it. It's just... he hadn't expected it and thus, ends up sort of just laughing awkwardly as he watches Jason take off to pay the bill. He's glad they've sorted this out... for now. He still has no idea what a lot of this means, even if they'd both more or less admitted to liking the other (wow so kindergarten of them) just now. He's still not sure what it means or if it will mean anything, but. They can figure that out as they go.
Which? That's what they're doing. Going.
Backpack slung there on his shoulder and making sure to grab his helmet, Barry makes his way after Jason with a carefreeness about him, swinging the helmet a bit as he goes. ]
Does he have like a whole setup in this... house of his?
[ Just going to drop the safe from there since they're out in public and all. ]
[ They've sorted this out for now. For now... for now, for now, for now. It plays in Jason's head over and over again like a taunting laugh track that he's ignoring with every fiber of his being. It's damn hard, but he can do it.
Man, if Barry thinks his food thing is a lifestyle to get used to, wait till he realizes the full on brunt of Jason's issues.
Johnny is still half assed glaring at Jason as he leans against the counter to wait for their snacks, added on to the bill he's paying. He's glad when Barry joins him, and he can just be here with him again. ]
Yeah, it's a whole... everything. State of the art. Architectural lines'n shit. Giant bathroom, nice big bed.
[ He waggles an eyebrow at Barry, mostly cause he thinks Barry will think it's cute. ]
[ He does think it's cute and it shows in the way he slyly grins at him before huffing a laugh, rocking there on his heels a little. Even with All Of This lingering there in the back of his head, he's sure they'll figure it out. Figure all of this and each other out. For now, though, his curiosity rests with this safehouse Bruce has. He's been to the manor, obviously, and seen the Batcave that he has but, beyond that, not much else when it comes to the various places and things Bruce seems to have in his life. Which is a lot, turns out. Then again, he can't really say he's all that surprised when Bruce is Bruce. ]
You wanna put those in here?
[ He asks then, of the snacks, shrugging his backpack off to be held around at his front. Thankfully, there's not much in there to make it difficult to cram some snacks in there for them to take along with them. The perks of carrying a backpack with you. ]
Also, for the record, I don't really have anywhere to be today, so.
[ With the meeting he had with Bruce and his lawyers having been wrapped up, it had left the rest of his day open to whatever and, not having planned to see Jason or head out like this with him, he probably would have just gone back to his place and worked on this and that. This? Much better. For a number of reasons. ]
[ Jason snags his card once he's done paying, putting it away before he nods and puts the snacks inside the backpack. he's more than ready to show Barry the safehouse, and everything else. ]
Yeah? Good. I... Uh. I don't have to be anywhere till later tonight.
[ Robin duties and all, which a part of him wants to brush off, but... he won't. ]
Come on.
[ They still have a long while till then, and Jason is gonna make the best of the time they've got. Back to the bike, helmet on, and excitement thrumming through his veins as they head towards the safehouse. ]
[ Barry should probably do the same as The Flash someone who keeps an eye on Central City, but. When you're as fast as him? He can be there in a matter of seconds, so. He's not really counting down the minutes or hours like Jason might be. He gets it, though. Gotham needs its vigilantes and those who look after it, especially with how corrupt a lot of the people (in power) can be. He'd never try and get between Jason and his Robin duties, so he intends to enjoy what time they have together until they need to part their separate ways for however long.
Like before, he holds tight to Jason the moment he's on that bike and has his helmet on. He doesn't know just how long of a ride this will be but, regardless, he intends to enjoy it while catching zipping sights of Gotham as they go.
This is fine, right here. Getting something to eat and then heading to a safehouse to have some time together. This is what normal people do after all, right? Or maybe, people like them do. ]
[ Jason wants this to be what people like them do. Maybe not normal, but something close to it. No reason for them not to, when they've found a way to be around each other like this.
Again, he enjoys the way Barry holds on to him as they zip through Gotham. It isn't too far away, but definitely out of the worst parts of town. Of course Bruce has them everywhere, but Jason picks the better one because... why not.
There's a lot that he comes up to at the back of the building, parking outside of it before he hops off, holding a finger up to Barry before he pulls his helmet off and lets the security camera do a retina scan. It opens right up for him and he heads back to the bike, winking at Barry before he climbs back on and drives through so he can park it inside. ]
[ Trust that Bruce has a fancy safehouse for himself and batfam. Barry sort of thinks maybe he should have something like this for himself somewhere but, then again, that's what the headquarters for The Justice League are for, right? Maybe. Either way, he waits there on the bike until Jason gets them access in and they're off once again to make their way inside for parking. ]
Is it going to like, totally rock my socks off?
[ He chuckles but, honestly? With it being Bruce, it's pretty damn likely that's A Thing that might just happen. Especially when he'd been so impressed and in awe upon seeing the Batcave for the first time. ]
[ Bruce is definitely well equipped on all fronts, and right now Jason is thankful for it. He's pretty damn sure this isn't what Batman had in mind for the usage of his safehouses, though, but... that's never really stopped Jason before.
Bruce won't find out. ]
No. I'm gonna rock your socks off.
[ He doesn't want this to be all about what Bruce has, or what he can do. Jason definitely thinks it's kick ass, and he's glad to have it, especially at a time like this, but... he still wants to be the one who impresses Barry, not Bruce.
He does another retina scan as they reach the elevator, and get inside. It opens up to what might as well be a three floor pent house. Everything is big, spacious, impressive. Even the safehouse is bigger and fancier than Jason could have ever imagined living in, and it's not even a place where anyone really lives.]
Here we are... uh... let me make sure the cameras are all off. Take a look around, grab a beer from the fridge if you want. Make yourself at home.
[ The moment they step their way inside, Barry is in awe once again at the size, the place, the everything that Bruce has made for himself here in this safehouse which โ how is this a safehouse again? It somehow seems too luxurious to be such a thing. Trust Bruce to live in luxury, even in a safehouse of all things.
With his helmet off and his backpack coming to slip from his shoulder, Barry looks around wide-eyed as he wanders a bit, looking over to Jason then before he goes off to take care of cameras and things. ]
Make myself at home... a home that I have never had and will never have. Right.
[ Because wow, Bruce, wow.
Either way, he sets the helmet down on the first table he sees along with his backpack and wanders a little further into the place, just wanting to see as much of it as he can. ]
[ Yeah, Jason can't believe it either. His safe houses included back alleys and abandoned places where he could hide away from whatever was out to get him that night. This? This is luxury. Pays to be rich, he supposes.
He leaves Barry to oooh and ahhh over the place as he checks the cameras, making sure they're still on standby, and not relaying anything back to the batcave. He's pretty sure the bedroom is a safe zone anyway, but after all the things Dick has put into his head about Bruce keeping unhealthy tabs on his Robins, he just wants to make sure.
Once he does that, he kicks his shoes off by the kitchen and does grabs some beers, cracking them open before he wanders back to Barry, finding him easily. ]
Insane, right?
[ He says as he holds a beer out to Barry, taking a sip of his own. ]
Still kinda can't believe it, you know? Sometimes I feel like it's all just gonna...
[ Disappear, he wants to stay, but he stops himself, because that's more personal than he wants to share, even if he thinks Barry might understand it. Sharing isn't his strong suit though, as Barry has probably noticed. ]
[ When the beer is offered to him, he takes it, smile on his lips. He hadn't been looking to drink, but. It's sort of like they're celebrating, in a way. The whole "making up" that they've done together today. He's thankful for it because... he hadn't like how things had been abruptly left between them and while Jason attempted to shoulder most of the blame for that, he knows he hadn't been any better with his not reaching out sooner or even at all until they'd accidentally bumped into each other earlier today. He could have handled it better as well, but he didn't and he knows that now.
So, why not have a drink after a fabulous meal at that little hole in the wall diner they'd been able to tuck themselves away in for a bit? They deserve moments such as these as much as anyone else, don't they? ]
Yeah. It's โ nothing I don't think I'll ever have in my lifetime. Even with the forensics gig.
[ He takes a sip of his own beer while looking around again before his attention comes to settle on Jason... and he kisses him. Unexpected, swift, yet still tender in a way Barry himself always is. It's for only a couple of seconds before he's pulling back some to look to him and he smiles to Jason, taking another sip. ]

Here we are... uh... let me make sure the cameras are all off. Take a look around, grab a beer from the fridge if you want. Make yourself at home.

So... you plan on giving me the tour?
